Easter morning

It sure didn't look like spring outside, but we had a nice Easter anyway. The kids awoke to find their Easter baskets and eggs hidden by the Easter bunny, then we had a hearty breakfast. Next it was off to church, with Easter dinner at our house afterwards.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Tonight we had a "green" meal. Green fettucine with green alfredo sauce, green pop, green bread, green salad, and pistachio pudding for dessert. The meal wasn't quite as big a hit as I thought it would be, not sure why! LOL

Sleigh ride on Palm Sunday

On Sunday we went on a sleigh ride with a bunch of people from our church. The weather was perfect and we had a wonderful time!

How she's grown!

On our Gotcha Day anniversary we dressed Rachel in the outfit she came to us in. Then, it was rolled up and way too big. Last year it fit perfectly. This year it's too small.

2 Years Together

Two years ago today my sweet baby Rachel was placed in my arms. I will never forget that moment- the way it felt to finally feel her little body in my arms, and the way she looked scared and yet somehow hopeful at the same time. The whole trip to get her seems almost like a dream to me now, and indeed it was a dream come true.

Rachel has brought so much joy into our family. Even now, two years later, the other kids will sometimes say "I'm so glad we have Rachel". Her sweet, bubbly personality makes us laugh with delight every single day.

Here is a little recap of the last two years with Rachel.

March break get-away

Last week was the kids' March break, and we went to Portland, Maine with some friends for a couple of days. The kids loved staying in a hotel with their friends and swimming in the pool.

The girls love the bouncy beds at the hotel.

A new journey begins!

For everyone who enjoys reading adoption travel stories, you should check out Our Journey to Baby M. Dianne and Joe are an NB couple who leave tomorrow to meet their beautiful baby girl, Meaghan, who is from Guangxi province just like Rachel! We wish them a wonderful trip! (This brings back so many great memories!)
