We took Max to the SPCA where he came from to have his picture taken with Santa.

Julia asked for a mermaid Barbie, and Rachel asked for a blanket. Last year Rachel asked for a watermelon. I'm afraid that Santa is going to think that her parents are failing to provide the poor child with food and warmth!

Meet the newest member of our family!

This is Max, a lovely yellow lab mix that we just got from the SPCA last night. He is a sweet dog and very well-behaved. Molly is not too thrilled with him yet but hopefully she will soon come around and they will be great friends. Poor guy was a stray and is terribly thin, with frostbitten ears, but we will soon fatten him up. There was a very strange coincidence with him- when we first met him he had just arrived at the shelter and hadn't been named yet. When we saw him next we learned that they had named him Cosmo. We couldn't believe it! A sign, perhaps? Anyway, we didn't keep the name because it would just be too strange to call a different dog Cosmo, but chose Max because we thought it sounded good with Molly.

On Saturday Harrison had some of his movies shown at the youth screening at the Silver Wave Film Festival. One of his films, "The Mailbox Monster" won Best Comedy! Here's a link to an article in the paper.

Masquerade tea party

On the weekend we had a little masquerade tea party for Julia and some of her friends. So much fun!

Yesterday the girls and I went to a shower to welcome a new little one home from China. Then we rushed to get Julia to her piano teacher's house for a "Wizard of Oz" party, and Rachel to a Halloween party for her preschool class.
