Family FotoFun Friday Challenge

I'm participating for the first time in the FFFF Challenge that Donna from Double Happiness does each week. This week's theme is to list ten things that you love/like that begin with the letter you are given. My letter to work with is O. So here goes:

1. Oxygen - can't live without it!

2. Opal - I guess I don't have any opal jewelry, but I have always really loved it.

3. Oranges - So refreshing and yummy. I especially love the smell.

4. Oscar the Grouch - My favourite Sesame Street character

5.
Ocean - There is nothing like that smell and the sound of the waves

6.
O Holy Night - My very favourite Christmas song

7.
Oriental Shorthair - the breed of cat that our Willow is. (This isn't Willow in the picture, but she looks a lot like this.) Beautiful cats loaded with personality.

8. Oz - I have loved The Wizard of Oz since I was a kid and we used to watch it on TV every year.

9.
October - I love this month because my favourite season is autumn. The air is cool and crisp, the leaves are beautiful, Thanksgiving is during this month, and of course, HALLOWEEN!

10. My Oxford dictionary, which helped me to come up with some of the words for this challenge!

Laura's adoption video

Laura was one of the beautiful babies in our group, and her mom made this lovely video for her. Rachel is with Laura in one of the pictures from the orphanage. Click Laura's Adoption Video to watch. I think Rachel and Laura have identical hair!

Happy New Year!

Sorry I have no picture to share for Chinese New Year. I didn't get the "before" picture, when we were all dressed up for church this morning in our Chinese clothes. The "after" picture wouldn't have looked too great, so I didn't bother taking it. We had fun though- we went to the Chinese Cultural Association performance (well, half of it, the girls were getting antsy so we left at intermission). Then for supper we had a bunch of Chinese goodies that we had picked up the day before at the market. The kids got their red envelopes and tried eating with chopsticks. Gong Xi Fa Cai!

This is from a few weeks ago. Rachel loves to help with household chores. You can hear her say "Here you go" in this.

Our "little" girl

At her recent check-up Rachel measured in the 75th percentile for height and weight. On the growth chart for Chinese girls, she is at around the 97th or 98th percentile. She wears 24-month sized clothes and size 6 shoes. When I heard that our baby was going to be from southern China I expected that she would be petite, but not so!

As soon as I can I will post a picture of her with her ponytails. Well, actually they are more like two little tufts of hair that I pulled into elastics, but when I stick a couple of bows or clips on there it looks pretty darn cute. Rachel has been bringing me the brush lately wanting me to do things to her hair like I do to her sister's, so I tried and found that she finally has enough hair to do something. When she looked at herself in the mirror she said "Pretty". Then she called out "Boys!" because she wanted to show off her new look to her brothers.
